Motherhood is...

How would you complete the sentence, motherhood is... ?

That is certainly a loaded question!! As you reflect on your response, what words come to mind? What emotions are elicited? We invite you to take note of your responses, and to be mindful of how God might be gently speaking and ministering to you as you reflect on what motherhood means in your life.

This Sunday we want to thank, honour and celebrate the Mothers and Mother-figures within NVBC as part of Mother's Day and to pray for the incredibly significant role you each play. To help mark Mother's Day we will host a Devonshire tea after both services. After the AM Service we will have a lovely photo backdrop set up to take a family photo in front of as a keepsake too! Thank you Mums, we appreciate you so much!!

May Mission Month - Story from Nita Finger

This year the May Mission Month appeal will help purchase Megavoice players featuring the Old Testament in the Karamojong people’s language.

A few years ago, NVBC helped Nita to purchase New Testament players. Nita says that these players have gone far and wide:

"I have heard from some that their brother or other person borrowed their player and took it with them to communities behind the mountain and other places.”

One went to Aworobu, where Nita’s co-worker CJ goes for church. She says that often, when walking in the community, she hears it being played far away. As one person plays it, many in the community hear it.

Nita, who was part of the NVBC family for several years, is now part of Africa Inland Mission (Australasia) team working with the Karamojong people group. You can learn more about Nita’s work here. Or talk to Dianne Wicks. And watch for Nita's prayer points is in The Harvest.

An Election Day thank you!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped host last weekend's election! From carpark duties to baking to cooking or serving, it was a wonderful expression of our commitment to serve and welcome our broader community. Thanks too to everyone who came down for a snack and stuck around to help create such a lovely, warm atmosphere in the courtyard.

Across the day we saw around 2000 voters come onsite! We continue to pray that God would use their experience onsite in someway to draw them closer to faith. Across the day our amazing coffee, bbq and bake sale also raised about $5200 for our church programs.

ValleySundays

It's back!

Starting this Sunday at our AM service and continuing fortnightly, junior youth (years 7-9) will be heading out from the service at the same time as Kingdom Kids to participate in their own program led by Zach, Jacqui Miller and other youth leaders.

The vision is to create a smoother, more comfortable transition between Kingdom Kids, Church Services and Friday youth group.

This term, we will be following the Youth Alpha video series.

Ministry Highlight: Alpha

We had an amazing night on Sunday, with around 40 people coming along to discuss life, faith, and God. Please keep praying for everyone who's coming along, that they can explore faith and find God.

This Sunday

This Sunday Travis will continue our 'More Like Jesus' May Mission Month series, exploring Mark 1:21-42, 'Doing the works of Jesus'.
