Sunday Services

At their best, our Sunday Service gatherings are a beautiful expression of our community and shared life in Jesus. They can be a powerful outworking of our heart to worship and pursue Jesus together. They provide a space for welcoming the spiritually seeking and for nurturing faith across generations.
They are also a significant part of our church strategy.
This year's theme and focus from Philippians 3:12-14 invites us to prayerfully ask: What does it mean for our Sunday Services to pursue all that God has for them?
Our pastoral team have set time aside next week to review our Sunday Services, with the heart to keep pursuing greater impact and fruitfulness within our Sunday gatherings. And we would love to hear from you as we do!
There is no pressure to do so, but if you feel led we would appreciate hearing what you value in our Services and the possibilities you see for us to pursue greater impact together. The Survey has many of our various service components listed, and you can comment on as few or as many as you would like.
The survey will be open until Sunday night. Thank you in advance!
Mothers Day Photos
One more big 'Happy Mothers Day' to all the Mums and mother-figures in the life of our church! Thank you for celebrating with us and staying back for a scone last week.
If you took the opportunity to take a photo in our Mother's Day photo booth last Sunday, we have uploaded them to the below shared folder. Click below to follow the link where you can download any photos of your family.
May Mission Month - Story from Nita
This year the May Mission Month appeal will help purchase Megavoice players featuring the Old Testament in the Karamojong people’s language.
Like last week, we have another story of how the New Testament players were received a few years ago:
“Some of them went to prisoners before they were released from prison, to take with them back to their communities... When we gave them, we encouraged them to listen in groups and to do Bible studies, using the questions we used each week in our Bible studies in prison.”
It's so exciting to hear about how God's word is being shared through the gift of these audio bibles, and we'd love to finish the work by raising funds for Old Testament Audiobibles this month.

Nita, who was part of the NVBC family for several years, is now part of Africa Inland Mission (Australasia) team working with the Karamojong people group. You can learn more about Nita’s work here. Or talk to Dianne Wicks. And watch for Nita's prayer points is in The Harvest.
Building Loan Milestone
We are so blessed to have the facilities we do as a church!! They are welcoming, multi-purpose, located in the heart of our neighbourhood and they enable so much great connection and ministry to happen onsite each week. For those who don't know, we are continuing to pay off the building loan that was taken out to complete the rebuild of our church auditorium and facilities. This repayment is built into our annual budget and we have made great progress over the past decade.
We want to share a little update of where the loan sits currently and invite you to celebrate hitting a milestone together: our building loan balance has now reduced below $400,000!
This Sunday
This Sunday will continue our 'More Like Jesus' May Mission Month series, exploring Mark 3:13-19, 'Investing in People like Jesus'.

In the AM Johnny will speak, and in the PM we have special guest Andrew Duncan from Baptist Mission Australia.
