Prayer as First Response
from Travis
How are your prayer reflexes going this week since Sunday?? On Sunday I encouraged us to be a "prayer first" people, the type of believer who builds an instinctive response of going to God in prayer. As Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones said, always respond to every impulse to pray.
For most of us, such responsive prayer-reflexes will develop over time as we intentionally seek to grow in them. Below are some "When-->Then" triggers to help us build prayer responses into our daily experiences of life. It could be a great devotional practice to start compiling a much longer list of your own prayer when-->then triggers! For now, I hope these few will encourage and cataylse more moments of connecting to God in prayer in your life.
Ministry Highlight - Kids Day Out
from Kaye
Wow! What a fabulous Kids Day Out we had yesterday onsite at NVBC! Our first Regional Kids Day Out was a fun, energetic and wonderful day. We saw over 90 kids, leaders and helpers onsite joining together from 9 different Baptist Churches in our region. Even with the odd light sprinkle of rain, we were so thankful for the weather not impacting our program and activities! Across the day we looked at how God has made each of us on purpose and with a purpose from Ephesians 2:10 and also had a special Baptist World Aid workshop.
A big, heartfelt THANK YOU to all who helped out as leaders, helpers or in other supporting roles. Thank you too, to all the families who got behind this first Regional Kids Day Out by enrolling your kids. We loved the chance to encourage them.
An important part of Kids Day Out was the Junior Leadership Program. Our amazing junior leaders spent all day on Monday together. We considered what it means to be a Christian leader and set up ready to welcome the kids on Tuesday. This Sunday, our Junior Leaders will report back on what they experienced and are thankful for. Please pray for the ongoing fruit of Kids Day Out in the lives of our kids, junior leaders and the strengthening of unity among the churches represented.
