Welcome school holidays!
Today marks the end of Term 3 as our students, teachers and many of our families welcome the school holidays with open arms! The past few weeks have also seen sporting seasons wrap up with finals, bringing some welcome weekend freedom back. We know of many in our church family who are on the road holidaying or will soon be, and after tonight both our youth leaders and Kingdom kids leaders will take a few weeks break as our programs pause between terms.
It seems like the perfect time for a bit of a breather, an opportunity for some rest and personal renewal. As we spoke about last week, now is also a fantastic time for a spiritual spring clean as we each reset for the coming term.
Whatever these weeks hold for you (even if it is business as usual), we pray a deep rest and refreshing over your mind, body, heart and soul in Jesus' name.
Flourish Connect Night
A big thank you to all who came out last Saturday night for our Flourish Connect evening. We loved seeing all connecting and meeting of new friends that happened over activities, dinner, and discussions.
News from Nita Finger
Nita & colleagues have been in a “season of visitors” so it has been very helpful having a new car! The first to visit was a group from one of someone else's supporting congregations in UK. It was an encouraging week with them. Then, a team came from Rwanda to do some training in mission and discipleship; and finally, Moses, sent by a Kampala Congregation, who completed a 6-month internship. The new car also allowed for a visit out to Lotirir (see if you can find that on a map!)
Nita, who was part of the NVBC family for several years, is now working with the Africa Inland Mission (Australasia) team working with the Karamojong people group. You can learn more about Nita’s work here. Or talk to Nita's NVBC mission team member, Dianne Wicks. And look for her prayer points in The Harvest (attached to this week's newsletter email).
Soul Survivor Sunday - 13th October
The team from Soul Survivor are coming to NVBC on Sunday 13th October. The Soul Survivor worship team will lead our worship in both services, and Matt Gelding will be preaching.
Matt is also going to run a Prayer Workshop at 3:30pm. Come along to learn from Matt about how he prays for people - attentive to the presence of God and the work of His Spirit.
