Prayer: Our Priority, Our Posture, Our Practice
As a church we have recently been in a season of growing in prayer. We had six weeks of preaching on prayer in July/August, and our Connect Groups have been doing The Prayer Course (a course produced by 24/7 Prayer) this term. We believe that God wants prayer to be our priority, our posture, and our practice.
With that in mind, this weekend, we are joining with the 24/7 Prayer Movement's Global Week of Prayer, by organising to pray as a church throughout the weekend. We will host 24hrs of an onsite prayer room 11-13th September.
Our onsite prayer room has been set up in the kids church room at the end of the veranda. Check out the walkthrough video and photos of each station below. There are guided prayer suggestions, stations and activities to help spend an impactful time of prayer in the space - but you are also welcome to simply pray as you feel led.

Father's Day highlights

Kariong Church visiting this Sunday
This Sunday AM our friends at Kariong Church will be coming to visit with us as part of their discernment process. We recognise that discerning whether to become part of NVBC is a huge decision for their church, one they may or may not be ready to make. Visiting on Sunday gives them the chance to see and experience a NVBC service first-hand and, more importantly, to meet with and experience our church community in person. We invite all who are able to stay around for a BBQ lunch right after the service in the courtyard!
Currently the Joint Discernment Group is readying a report to be circulated next week which will summarise the process so far; and share the key discussions, discernments, questions that we have been receiving. It will also detail the next steps for decision-making on whether or not the process concludes or keeps moving forward.
Good News Story: Youth Intercessors
Did you know? Each one of our youth leaders is paired with a prayer intercessor partner; someone who will regularly and intentionally pray for them and their ministry to our youth! Last Friday, our intercessors were able to join the pre-youth leader's meeting for a time of connection and prayer, which was an incredible encouragement to all.
We love our ministry to the young people of The Valley and deeply value our youth leaders who serve so faithfully each week. What a joy to stand with them and cover them in prayer!!
