New Year, Renewed Rhythms
from Travis
It is a new year, HAPPY NEW YEAR to each of you! It is also the time where many rethink their rhythms and habits that they desire to build into their life in the coming year.
Looking back on my own life, I know that some Januarys have involved bold declarations of gloriously ambitious "new year's resolutions"... that then turn out to be embarrassingly short-lived. Oops! In other years though, I can look back on deliberate shifts and habits begun in January that made a profound impact on my life and walk with God across the year.
Regardless of your approach to the beginning of a new year, as Jesus followers it is always good to ask ourselves the questions:
How will I build daily rhythms of connecting with God into my life?
How will I engage in practices that help me grow as a disciple of Jesus?
From our recent National Church Life Survey report, we know that this is near and dear to the hearts and practices of our NVBC family. Last year we saw that 45% of us already have a daily rhythm and routine of connecting with God through prayer, Bible reading and meditation. A further 29% of us have the rhythm of doing so a few times each and every week.

At the beginning of a new year with God, I encourage you to consider afresh what rhythms of connecting with him you are building into your life. As we shared last January, below is a little booklet of ideas collated to help resource and stir ideas for fresh or renewed devotional practices in the coming year.
May 2026 be a year of profound spiritual growth and impact for each of us, as we each continue building our life rhythms with God.
Pray for our Boolarng Team
Please keep praying for our Boolarng team currently leading the annual holiday program in partnership with Purfleet Community Church near Taree! Pray for the impact and ongoing fruit of the time spent serving the community. We look forward to hearing about it upon their return.
Thanks be to God!!
Last Sunday we held our annual 'Testimony Sunday'; providing the chance to look back over the past year and pause to give thanksgiving and glory to God for the ways we saw him at work in our lives. As part of the service, there was opportunity to give public testimony through a time of open mic and personal thanksgiving through a written station.
As we listened and reflected on the stories shared, and then read through the written notes after the service, all we can say is WOW, Praise God!! Let us each continue to "give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted." (Isaiah 12:4-5, ESV).

If you missed last Sunday, it's not too late to add your testimonies and gratitude to our collective expression of thanksgiving. The response station will remain up for this Sunday.
Christmas Giving Total
A big thank you for your generosity above and beyond your regular giving as part of our 2025 Christmas Appeal. We are thrilled to shared that $4,350 was raised to go towards our Christmas Giving Projects.
That means that the full target amount was raised to cover resources for our Insight School Ministry workers. For Dylan at Lisarow High this will cover new book resources and Bibles. For Kerry at Narara Valley High this will cover the Shine Program for girls and help support a breakfast program. For Emmanuel at Henry Kendall High this will cover a suicide prevention and mental health program called 'Sources of Strength'.
It also means that $2,350 will be donated to Purfleet Community Church to contribute to a pool of funds that will go towards replacing their roof and repairing internal water damage.
