Gathering

from Johnny

This weekend, 145 of us will be gathering together down at Crosslands for The Gathering Camp. There will also be those gathered in Narara on Sunday morning.

The church in the New Testament was called the 'ekklesia' - the greek word for a gathering or an assembly. We gather together every week, at church services and connect groups, ministry programs and meetings, for a coffee or a meal or a catch-up. Gathering is what makes us the church.

Please be praying for our big Gathering this weekend, as we set aside intentional time to be gathered for a couple of days. Pray that we would all be connected to one another more deeply, that God would provide space and time for us to connect with each other and with Him, that this weekend would bear fruit going forward, as a church that is more united, where people know one another more, and where we can encourage one another and build one another up in our faith.

Ministry Apprenticeship Program

We are excitedly working towards a 2027 Ministry Apprentice at NVBC to participate in the Ministry Apprenticeship Program developed by the Coast Baptist collective of churches. This apprenticeship is focused towards leadership development and personal formation, through the opportunity to experience a supervised, practical ministry environment where they can invest, test and grow in their sense of gifting and calling.

Applications are now open: anyone over 18 who is feeling drawn to the Apprenticeship is encouraged to come have an initial chat to Travis or any of our pastoral team. The Ministry Apprenticeship Role Description and Application Form are below.

Fundraising Update: we have now hit nearly 65% of our fundraising goal in donations and pledges since launching the campaign!

To help fully fund the program, please give (into our offering account or at the Info Desk), making sure to use the reference '2027Apprentice' when you do (every bit helps!). Or you can make a Pledge of a future contribution by filling in a Pledge form at the Info Desk or contact Travis.

Next Emerging Leaders Cohort

This year we have had Joné, Maddie, Georgia & Olivia from NVBC participate in the Emerging Leaders Program run by our Coast Baptist collective of churches. Through monthly meet ups, a retreat and conference the program equips, mentors and releases young adults into leadership, helping them grow in their faith, develop their gifts and make a difference in their churches and the wider Central Coast community.

Emerging Leaders Retreat (2025)
Emerging Leaders Retreat (2025)

The 2027 Emerging Leaders Program is coming and is open to any Young adults aged 18 to 25 who are part of a Baptist church in the Central Coast. It is for any who want to lead well wherever God has placed them, who is ready to grow in character, conviction and capability.

If you are interest in learning more, nominating an NVBC young adult, or are a young adult keen to be involved - you can read more about the Program overview below:

We're Hiring: Children and Families Pastor

As we continue to pray blessing over Rachel in her final term as our Children and Families Pastor, we also begin praying for God's leading and provision of the right person to step into the role next year. Please be in prayer over this search process - for God's hand to clearly guide and direct all applicants and the search team across the coming weeks.

If you, or someone you know, would potentially be interested in the role, you can learn more about the role here. Any questions, expressions of interests or applications can be submitted to church@nvbc.info.

Keep Covering our Year 12s!

Some of our Year 12s have already finished all their exams, while others are about at their half-way point. Let's keep praying over our Year 12 students as they complete their HSC exams. The prayer calendar is below to help us pray for specific exams and students:
