28th Jan 2026
Let's Go!
We are about to tick over to the month of February, also known as the official start of the church calendar year. Most people are back from holidays, students are heading back to school or uni, and the normal weekly rhythms of home life are taken up for a new year. On the church front, our regular church ministry programs resume for a new year with fresh vision, plans and added new leaders. And we launch passionately towards the things of God together with Vision Sunday (this weekend!).
As we step together into regular rhythm and ministries of church life, let us cover the year in prayer with thankful and expectant hearts.
Our loving and gracious God,
With thankful hearts, we pause to praise You for all You have already done and for all You are yet to do among us as your church here at NVBC. As we move further into this new year and our ministries launch afresh, we are humbled by the testimonies we carry from 2025 and eagerly anticipate the testimonies that will be written across 2026.
We thank You, Lord, for the gift of this church and for every person who will walk through our doors, engage online, serve, learn, and grow in the months ahead. We rejoice in Your deep love for each person who the life of NVBC will touch this year, and we trust You to lead each one into new places of hope, renewal, and life.
We pray that Your Holy Spirit would move powerfully in every ministry—bringing joy where there is weariness, growth where there has been waiting, and fresh vision where there has been uncertainty. Surprise us with Your goodness. Open our eyes to see the ways You are already at work, often beyond what we ask or imagine.
We lift up our ministry leaders and all who serve with deep gratitude. Thank You for their giftedness, willingness and faithfulness. By your Spirit would you empower each one for the ways they serve. Sustain their strength for the work and fuel an expectancy for the impact their ministry will make. May they lead not out of obligation, but out of delight in serving You.
As we step into the year ahead, help us to walk with open hands and hopeful hearts—ready to follow wherever You lead. May we, your church at NVBC, be marked by joy, saturated in gratitude, and alive with expectation for Your moving among us.
We place all that is ahead into Your loving care, trusting You completely.
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

News from Muana & Villy
Muana & Villy had many happy Christmas celebrations last December with the members of the different Faith Communities with whom they work. These events included special ones for people with disabilities and a seniors Christmas party (as we have at NVBC, though with a different menu).
In family news, their eldest daughter, Yindii, has found employment in her chosen field: finance.
We look forward to a visit from Muana & Villy in late May this year.
NVBC has been a long-term supporter of Muana & Villy who have been working with the Northern Thai people since 2001. Learn more about this work here, or talk to Danielle Lamrock. And look for their prayer points today in The Harvest.
A Big Thank You!
A big thank you to the team who came together to help with our "site reset" last Friday. We didn't grab too many photos of the team in action, because there was just too much work to be done!! From the kitchen to the offices, from cupboards to storerooms, a great amount of decluttering, cleaning and organising for ministry was achieved together. Well done!
Our facilities and all the physical resources within them, continue to be an incredible blessing. A blessing that we are grateful to God for (and for the generosity of his people over many years).
We are Hiring!

The search for an Admin and Operations Manager to join the NVBC staff team is officially underway.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated, strong administratively gifted and organised person with a real love for NVBC. We invite any questions about the role, expressions of interest and applications via our church email.
Please pray over this search and for God's leading throughout. Applications close Feb 14.
