Celebrating Unity on the Coast

While you're reading this Newsletter, I'll be having lunch with the pastors of Baptist Churches on the Central Coast up at Greenhouse Long Jetty! It's wonderful seeing the ways that God is creating unity amongst churches in our region, and the fruit of that unity is so exciting to see.
We worshipped and fellowshipped together last Sunday night at the Coast Baptist Worship Night (click to watch the slideshow below!)
Some of our NVBC young adults have been attending the Emerging Leaders program this year with Coast Baptists too, growing in their discipleship and leadership skills - what an amazing opportunity! If you're a young adult thinking about what to do next year, chat to Jone, Georgia, Liv or Maddie to hear what it's been like for them so far, or click here to sign up for 2027.

This weekend is Connect Weekend! Thank you to everyone who's volunteered to host! We have 15 great events on on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - have a look at them all here:

And we want to encourage everyone to make this weekend just the start - continue to look for opportunities to invite people over for a meal, or out to a cafe, or to the park. Let's keep on connecting with one another beyond this weekend!
Kariong Update
A big thank you to all who are praying into this discernment process, asking questions and feeding back your thoughts so far. We are starting to compile a healthy collection of verses, words or images that many of you are discerning and sharing with us as you pray. Thank you (and please keep going)!!
The Joint Discernment Group met again on Monday night to continue working together on discerning the possibilities for both churches into the future. One key understanding we hold is that relationship is so important throughout this process. Both in the discerning together, and that the success of any possible shared future will largely be dependent on the health and strength of relationships build together.
To help give an initial opportunity to meet together and share a taste of NVBC life, we look forward to Kariong Church coming down to worship with us at an NVBC Sunday AM Service on September 13th. And, of course, we'll fire up the BBQ's for a post-service lunch to encourage a time of getting to know one another in community.
Good News: Leo's Car Wash
You may have seen some cleaning action in the carpark on Sunday morning. This was Leo and his mates washing cars to raise money for his mission trip to Mexico coming up in January. For many years now, Leo has worked and fundraised hard to pour every dollar he has towards giving his summer holidays to overseas mission. This includes practical work as well as sharing Jesus with kids. He is only 10% off his target! Missed out on a squeaky clean car but still want to contribute, you can do so here: Donate

Father's Day (6 Sep, 9:30am and 5:00pm)

Kariong Joint Worship Service (13 Sep, 9:30am)
Our friends at Kariong Church are coming down the hill to worship with us and enjoy a BBQ lunch. Come along so we can get to know each other as we continue to discern together.
