S.H.A.P.E.d to Serve

All Called. All Gifted. All Needed.

When we think about serving in the church, it can be easy to picture a sign-up sheet, a schedule, or a gap that needs to be filled on a roster. And while these will always be part of church life, the Scripture paint a much fuller and more beautiful picture of what serving is. Serving isn’t just about plugging roster holes — it’s about living out who God has uniquely created each of us to be.

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul reminds us that the Church is a body. We are not just a collection of interchangeable parts thrown haphazardly together, we are more like a living, breathing body where every member has a distinct and indispensable role. Eyes see. Hands hold. Feet carry. Each part is different, complementary, essential and also reliant upon the other parts.

This all speaks of something we each need to take a hold of: that we have a unique role, a function, an indispensable contribution that the body needs to fully be itself. It is only as every believer steps into their God-given design, that the whole body becomes stronger, healthier, and more alive. To put this in some of our 2026 focus area language:

You are called. You are gifted. You are needed.

That’s why we’re inviting you to join us for a 3-week short course designed to help you explore how God has uniquely wired you to serve. God has shaped each one of us with intention. Your passions, your abilities, your life experiences, your personality — even the doors God has opened and closed along the way — all form part of how He designed you to serve.

Our S.H.A.P.E. short course begins in many of our Connect Groups and in some 'pop up' groups from next week. We’d love for you to join us!

Resources from Sunday

Last Sunday as Craig was sharing, he mentioned a Christian fictional book he found impactful when processing grief, loss and eternity with Jesus. For those who did not get in quick enough on Sunday to grab one of his copies on offer, it is currently available to order on Amazon:

As part of our Services we also showed a powerful video from Peter Greig from the 24-7 Prayer Room Movement. In the video Pete gives a wonderfully compelling reflection on the nature of prayer, and its impact on the ones who pray. It is well worth a watch (or rewatch).

Update: Admin & Operations Manager

Thank you to all who have been praying for our search for an Admin and Operations Manager to join the pastors and staff team. This week the search panel began interviewing the shortlisted candidates. Please continue to pray for God's clear and confirmed leading throughout the process.
