Acts Part 2

This week we are resuming our series in the book of Acts. In part 1, we covered chapters 1-9. The focus of these chapters was to look at the movement of the Holy Spirit in the life of the early church. We saw the people of God receive the Holy Spirit; they prayed in the Spirit, were made bold by the Spirit, were gifted and appointed to serve in the power of the Spirit, and more.
We're now moving into part 2, where the focus of the book is much more on the way the Spirit sends God's people to reach out into the world around them. As a church, we want to be a movement of people who 'reach' - that's one of our key themes for the year of movement that God has put on our hearts this year (alongside praying and serving).
In Acts 10-17 we'll see Peter, Paul, Barnabas, Silas and others taking the Gospel further and further into the Roman world, led by the Holy Spirit to share Jesus with Jews and Gentiles, rich and poor, in synagogues and streets and even in prison! May we be inspired and equipped by their example, as the Spirit calls us to reach out to our neighbours, friends, and world with the Good News about Jesus.
Joint Discernment Group update
Kariong Church will be meeting this Sunday for a round-table forum for open and honest conversation about the possible pathways forward for their church. Please be praying for them to discern the Spirit's leading for their church community.

The Gathering Camp - Day-tickets now available
If you're wanting to visit camp for a day (or even to come and go for 2 days or all 3), there are two new ticket options available for those who don't need accommodation: a Saturday day-ticket, or a whole weekend day-ticket. These tickets cover the cost of facilities, food and activities - everything except somewhere to sleep at night!
Of course, you can still rego to attend the whole weekend, either camping on in rooms.
