12th Nov 2025

So incredibly grateful for us

from Travis (+NCLS!)

Recently I sat down to read through our returned NCLS report (remember that big "National Church Life Survey" form you filled in back in September? That's the one, thanks for filling that in!). I had been eagerly awaiting it's return, ready to dive into the report as it is such a helpful snapshot of our church and measure of our health. Plus, it helps give shape to our focus and priorities for the coming year.

As I read through it, I quickly found myself smiling, shaking my head in almost incredulous disbelief, and had my eyes begin to fill with tears of gratitude. Friends, what an amazing place we find ourselves in as a church to step into 2026 together! I will share some of the highlights of the report this Sunday morning, although I suspect you don't need any data to already know and feel what it reveals... God is moving at NVBC and we have an enormous amount to be thankful for together.

I want to fully recognise that the healthy space we are in is only possible with God, and my heart is quick to return that in praise to Him! I also celebrate that it is the cumulative impact of each of us and all of us together. Appropriately and somewhat timely, this Sunday we are pausing for our annual Thanksgiving Service where we get to say a massive THANK YOU for all you each contribute to our church community. We want to celebrate and thank all who serve, pray, lean in, join with and invest in our church. To get a little taste of what is in store, here's some photos from last year's Thanksgiving Service.

This Sunday, our Kingdom Kids will begin in their program upon arrival (to do some of their Christmas takeover service filming) and then join us in the auditorium towards the back half of the service for some celebratory thanksgiving moments! We are also opening the cafe earlier pre-service for coffee and donuts. And we'll celebrate after the service with opportunities to express gratitude towards various serving teams and with tasty treats just because!

Speaking of Fun

A big thanks to all the ladies of NVBC who joined for an evening of bowls, community, dinner and conversation last Saturday evening. A great time had by all as we continue to enjoy being the church together. Watch below for a quick highlight reel of the fun evening.

Praying for Impact

ree

20 Bibles were sponsored very quickly last Sunday, ready to be gifted to 20 graduating yr 6 SRE students at Niagara Park Primary.

Let's all pray for the impact these Bibles will have on the lives of all 20 students, and for the ongoing fruitful relationship with the school. Perhaps also consider whether SRE is something you might like to get involved in next year!

Mission Update & Invitation

One of our supported missionaries, Daniel Sze, invites any from NVBC to join in a special end-of-year celebration of the indigenous ministry he is involved in. The celebration will be hosted by the Mt Druitt Indigenous Church (105 Ellsworth Dr, Tregear) on Saturday November 29th, between 2:00-4:00pm.

This is an encouraging opportunity to show our support to Daniel, meet with many others who support this work, hear testimonies from the members of the 2025 mission trips and join together in prayer. The afternoon will also include the 12 Baskets Ministry event, focusing on Christmas food going to the needy Mt Druitt indigenous community via this local Church (pictures from last year below). If you are interested in accepting this invitation, talk to Pastor Johnny or Bob Gibson.

Daniel is one of the NVBC-supported mission workers, working with Indigenous Church leaders in both regional and urban Australia. You can watch a 5-min summary of his work. And look for Daniel’s prayer points in The Harvest.
