12th April 2024

We are beginning a new preaching series this Sunday in the book of Psalms. The Psalms are a treasure trove of songs, sung-prayers, that express an incredible range of attitudes and emotions towards God. The Book of Psalms is not telling a story, nor is it explaining theology - these songs are expressing and exploring the human experience of knowing God. Some psalms are happy, some are sad; some celebrate, and others lament; some look back and remember the past, others look forward and prophesy about the future...

And many Psalms explore the concept of the presence of God, which is our theme for 2024. So for the next eight weeks, we will be reading a range of psalms and exploring what it means to seek God's presence, to be in his presence together, and what results from a life lived with God.

If you want to learn more about Psalms, here's a great 5 minute video from The Bible Project.

Looking to Term 2

A big thank you to all who attended our church Focus Meeting last Sunday. At our meeting we formally appointed Sarah White into Rachel's maternity leave position as Children and Families Worker! We also formally appointed Zach Bryant and Josh Kay into a shared role as Interim Youth Workers! All three will begin in their roles from the beginning of Term 2.

Please join us in thanking God for the provision of these amazing, gifted and passionate individuals and pray for God's anointing upon them as the begin.

At our meeting we also appointed Peter Gay into a Health and Safety Representative position. We will invite Peter up in a Sunday Service early Term 2 if you don't know him yet.

In the staff team transitions:

Rachel will begin her maternity leave mid-May. Lewis' final Sunday will be May 5th and will finish with a baptism service in the PM!

Please talk to any of our pastors if you are interested in baptism.

Can you help?

One of the single ladies in our church family is urgently looking for accommodation. If you (or someone you know) has a granny flat or suitable living arrangement that could be available, please let any of the pastoral team know or email Travis here. Thank you.
