Acts 2:22-41
Recap:
What did you take away from Acts 1:1-11 (on Sunday) and Acts 2:1-21 (in last week's Connect Group Study)?
How do you see the Spirit empowering and enabling the Kingdom of God to go into the world?
Do you have a story of the Spirit's movement in your life this past week?
Read Acts 2:22-36
What stood out to you from Peter's sermon?
What do you think it would've been like to be there that day
as a Jewish person in the crowd?
as a disciple?
as Peter?
What do you think we can learn from Peter's example when we want to share the Good News about Jesus with our friends and neighbours?
Read Acts 2:37-41
Consider each of the steps Peter gave his hearers one at a time. What do each of these things mean to you in your own story of following Jesus:
'Repent' (38)
'Be baptised in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins' (38)
'Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit' (38)
'Save yourselves from this corrupt generation' (40)
How does the promise of forgiveness and the Holy Spirit continue to be received today? Share any stories you have (your own or someone you know) of people coming to receive what was promised that day.
How would you like to respond to the Good News of Jesus today? Is there anything you feel you need to do (or recommit to) as you consider the powerful transformations that took place at Pentecost?
Spend some time in prayer, praying for yourselves and others, that they would hear and repent and receive the Good News of Jesus.
