NVBC is a church devoted to mission - local, regional and international. We have a special focus on God's mission in May each year. Please pray each day throughout May for the mission-shaped ministries of NVBC and our partnerships in Australia and around the world.
Wednesday - 8th May
Pray for Yindii who is still looking for an intern placement in the field of finance and commerce that meets the requirement of her University. Zoe has signed up for volunteering at one of the city hospitals to spend time with children who have cancer and will be having an interview soon. Pray that both Yindii and Zoe will find their placements.
Pray for Libi at school in Chiang Mai. Pray for her as she shares God’s love and compassion with her friends.
Thursday - 9th May
Pray for the local workers and partnering churches in Thailand who support families and children, especially those of risk of exploitation and abuse.
Pray for the health and provision for children, their families, and communities who still live in poverty.
Pray for those experiencing unrest near the Myanmar border and for the Compassion church partners who are working with them.
Praise God for those partnering churches who are becoming self-sufficient after many years of partnering with Compassion.
Friday - 10th May
Pray for the leaders, especially Zach & Josh as they take over from Lewis. Pray for wisdom, patience, God’s peace, and the Spirit's leading in this transition period.
Pray for the youth, that they will form strong relationships with the team, with each other, and especially that they form relationships with Jesus.
Saturday - 11th May
Northern Thailand
Continue to pray for the faith communities in Baan Luang, Baan Sra, San Patong, and Baan Bua as they meet to learn more about the Gospel and God’s love for all people. Pray for perseverance and protection as some face opposition from family and friends.
After a decade, faith communities need larger spaces to meet than their homes can provide. Pray for the ministry house in Baan Luang. It is a space to pray together, run Bible studies, hold monthly training, provide discipleship, offer community English classes, have meetings and be a house of worship for anyone that attends.
Sunday - 12th May
Pray for the protection of the Open Doors field workers, partners, and co-workers involved in missions.
Pray for believers who have converted from other religions and face persecution, that God will protect them and give them His peace.
Persecution can be rejection by family and/or community, denied access to basic needs like clean water. In some countries it can result in imprisonment, physical violence, even death.
Monday - 13th May
Praise God for the success of the first ZOE Rescue Run for raising and support for victims of human trafficking. There were over 500 participants including representatives from partnering NGOs, the Royal Thai Police, and local community members.
During first quarter 2024, ZOE’s Mercy Network program provided 6870 food packs to 1374 families in Northern Thailand and Isaan province (eastern Thailand). Pray that God will use these packs to provide families with their needs and to show His love for them.
Tuesday - 14th May
Daniel Sze
Please pray for the Queensland Short-term mission exploratory trip, from 17-28 May. Rev. Hung Kwan and Dr. Daniel Sze will be visiting Indigenous communities and their Christian leaders in a few Queensland regional towns, including Rockhampton, Woorabinda, Townsville, and Mareeba.
