Easter Week 2025

Easter Reflections

We are heading into one of the most significant and impactful weekends of our church calendar. This weekend we will join with Christians around the world in considering afresh what the death and resurrection of Jesus means for each of us and for our world today.

To help us consider this afresh, we asked some of our church family to share a reflection on how the Easter story is impacting them this year. We encourage you to consider the same question as you have a read of their answers below.

Morris and Helen: As we reflect on the Easter story the words of the old hymn come to mind:

‘I stand amazed at the presence of Jesus the Nazarene

And wonder how He could love me,

a sinner condemned unclean

How wonderful, how marvellous

is our Saviour’s love for me’

Barbara and George: As we reflect on Easter this year we are drawn more deeply into the depth of the meaning of the trial, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus as it relates to both of us individually, to the way we live our lives today, the way we anticipate our eternal future, and the urgency with which we seek to reach those around us who have not yet accepted Jesus as their own Saviour.

Darryl: Even though we call it Good Friday, it seemed like a really bad day for the disciples. They believed and hoped Jesus was the Messiah. Yet here he was, in a cold dark tomb. Good Friday seemed like a dark day. But not long after the stone rolled away and light flood that dark tomb.

As one struggling with depression for many years, I can relate to the disciples’ loss of hope and the darkness of the closed tomb. This Easter I’m reflecting that, like the tomb, light floods into the darkness of the soul bringing hope. Moreso, it invites me to look forward to a day when there will be no more hurt, sorrow, sick or tears.

New Song for Easter

Whether this Easter is your first in church or your eightieth, our heart is that you would be impacted afresh by what Jesus did and has won for us. One of the ways we hope to help facilitate that is through the introduction of fresh songs declaring timeless truths. In our Services this weekend we will be singing the below song 'The Lamb (Alleluia)'.

Why this song? In the words of our worship team leader Josh: Alleluia is a word that means God be praised, an expression of rejoicing. While this is a year round endeavour, how great it is to declare this and lift Him up as we celebrate and give thanks for Easter and all He has done. We hope these words will resonate with you and stay with you as we pursue Jesus together.

Our Easter Services

We are looking forward to worshipping Jesus with you across 3 services this weekend. Each service has a unique flavour and focus, designed to help us be moved afresh by what Jesus experienced and accomplished over those three days.

Thursday Night 7:30pm

A moving service of reflection, readings, drama videos, communion, worship and prayer as we engage with Jesus' lead up to the Cross.

Good Friday 9:30am

A kingdom kids program will run in the hall and Travis will speak from Mark 15, focusing on v16-20. After the service we will serve hot cross buns.

Easter Sunday 9:30am

Johnny will speak from Mark 16 on the resurrection of Jesus! We will be in celebration mode with a full band, kids packs during the service and a kids Easter Egg Hunt will be hosted after the service.

Enter The Story

One of the best ways to engage deeply with Easter each year, is to spend time slowly reading through and reflecting on the events of that first Easter.
