12th January 2024
New Year, New Beginnings
As a new year begins, it brings the chance for new beginnings, fresh vision, renewed rhythms and a holy expectation for God's work in and through us in the coming year. It also provides the chance to look back over the past year to reflect, learn and to give thanks. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that we have so much to be thankful to God for over the past 12 months!!
Personally, I loved hearing the testimonies shared at our Dec 31 Thankfulness Service and witnessing our 2023 Gratitude Table (pictured below) be filled up by our community. What’s crazy is that those amazing collection of testimonies were only the tip of the iceberg of the stories of spiritual growth, personal renewal, healing and answered prayers we experienced through 2023.
God is moving here! I can’t wait to see the new life, new passion, new faith, new growth, new freedom, new gifts, and new healings that lies ahead of us in 2024.
Bring it on!
Travis.
Ministry Highlight: Boolarng
Boolarng 2024 was a whirlwind in one day. We had a great team from NVBC that served their hearts out. We were only there for a short time, so the community BBQ/carnival day was great to reach people of all ages. Uncle Russ and Aunty Lorraine joined us and together we were able to communicate creatively God's love for all people. Thank you to all those that prayed for us. God continues to use Boolarng to reach those in the indigenous community in Taree/Purfleet.
New Year, New Newsletter!
Welcome to our new-look newsletter. The new format is designed to be easier to read on your phone or tablet, and more user-friendly for finding your way to relevant information on our website. This year we also want to focus more on sharing ministry highlights, testimonies, photos, community news and what God is laying on our hearts through our newsletter. You can read those stories and more at the top, and then scroll down to see what's coming up.
Please send us an email if you have any questions or feedback about the changes we've made for the new year.
Thailand Short-Term Mission Team
The STMT would love you to join with them in prayer over the next few weeks. They head off to Thailand this coming Wednesday 17th of January with an early morning start at 5am and finally getting to Chiang Mai at 8.30pm. Please pray for safe travels for them and a good night sleep so that they can then go and participate in the building project with Muana on Thursday and Friday. (This is the building project we raised funds for in May). Danielle will also be helping Villy in her Beauty and Beyond Ministry at some stage during these 2 days.
Look out for more updates and prayer requests in our Newsletter each week.
This Sunday Travis will be speaking and asking the question "What are you carrying into the new year?". Kids packs will be available and prayer ministry will be offered at the end of the service.
On Sunday afternoon we'll be heading down to Gosford waterfront to hang out, ride jetskis and play at Aquasplash. Bring your swimmers! Note the earlier start time to make best use of the daylight hours: 3:30pm
We believe in the power of a praying church! For the first time in a while, we are calling a church-wide prayer meeting to pray over the coming year together. Come along on Wednesday night.
