Meet Our Architects

Meet Aibee Architects:

Late in 2011, the NVBC Facilities Steering Committee was recommended the services of Aibee Artchitects, a firm who have worked with a number of churches around Sydney, to steer us through our building program at 127 Narara Valley Drive.

The firm is led by Andrew Blamey who has worked closely with churches, aged care and educational  institutions for over 20 years.

The Facilities Steering Committee has spoken directly with some of Aibee Architects clients in person.

Their recommendations have only affirmed our decision to work closely with Aibee in 2012.

Dayspring Church Project:

A wharehouse conversion to include a 1000 seat auditorium,  Kids ministry areas, Prayer and meeting rooms, a café, commercial Kitchen, seminar, training and conference breakout rooms, audio visual, recording and video production rooms
and new toilets. We created a new mezzanine floor over the rear section of the auditorium to accommodate approx 800m2 of office/admin space.  120 space car park.

“Andrew [Blamey of Aibee Architects] took us from concept to completion for all the documentation, and supervised on an adhoc basis as required. He is meticulous with detail and has a good understanding of the needs and requirements of Church organizations.”

"Dayspring Church invited Aibee Architects and one other architect to meet with our leaders and Project Control Group to discuss our project and do a presentation about their company, the processes involved and a cost schedule for the design. After that meeting, our leadership team unanimously decided to go with Aibee. They also did an outstanding job helping us work through the many Council and Certification issues."

"We are very pleased with the efforts they put in and the results achieved. All the best with your project and I am sure you will be more than happy with the services of  Aibee Architects."

Stewards Foundation of Christian Bretheren Project:

A new church facility at Concord (under construction) with capacity of approximately 150 people
Will commence using the facility in February.

"It appears to meet our requirements in every way we can think of at this point. The project came in on time and was within the budget of around $1m"

"Andrew is a strong Christian and has the ability to get things done. He has a good range of contacts" (e.g. acoustic consultants, that he can call on when required)

Thornleigh Community Baptist Church Project:

550-600 seat multi-purpose auditorium, ancillary areas [kitchen, creche, toilets, vestibule, storage], parking, and to fit on an off-square plot to the rear of a heritage listed house in the midst of a suburban housing area and to functionally [not physically] tie in with other adjoining properties owned by the church.

"Andrew did the building at Thornleigh while I was there. His approach to us and to the brief we gave him was at all times, efficient, and clear."

"I found him to be a man of faith in our Lord and a man of skill, integrity and approachability."

"He was and remains a member of that congregation."

"His brief for TCBC was to develop the site and to marry the new building with the existing old house built in 1894."

"Not only did he do this with  some brilliance,  his work was revognised by with an award from the appropriate authorities of the time."

"I commend him without reservation."

Cherrybrook Uniting Church Project:

New hall facilities added to heritage listed church.
Expanded hall to seat 200 people.

Started with another architect who did not understand their financial constraints or their worship requirements.

Completed building met their requirements extremely well.

The total budget was $1.6m,  project came in within $3k of that amount. All stages were delivered on-time except when outside of his [Andrew Blamey] control (e.g. council approvals)

“Andrew as a Christian understood our requirements for a worship centre and our financial limitations”
