You don't have to wait for a Pastor or a Pastoral Care Team member to pray with you, though they are happy to do so. In your hour of need, you can talk directly to God. Just pour out your heart to God. There is no need for fancy, well composed and religious sounding sentences. Be sincere, confident and open; God already knows anyway. He is looking at what’s happening in your heart. Tell God about your needs, worries or heartbreaks. If it helps, you can use some of the scriptures written above in your prayer. Present your requests to God, but keep in mind that God knows what is best, and while he will always listen and answer your prayer, he won’t grant a request that’s not His will for you, because He cares for you.
The Lord is near.
Do not worry about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Phillippians 4:5b-7 (NRSV)
