Our church board oversee the administration and 'business side' of our church.
Our board members are:
Sharon has been a Ministry Partner of NVBC for 20 years. She is married to Bruce and has 3 children and 7 grand-children. She teaches Maths in a large local tutoring college. Her interests are breeding rare chooks and various crafts and, after the closure of Valley Ventures, continues to organise her craft group in her home.
Sharon loves to organise things and even loves paperwork! Her aim on the Board is to make ministry easier for groups inside NVBC by taking care of the myriad of government and council regulations that affect churches today. She gets excited about finding a better deal for utilities and making the Budget balance. She is committed to making NVBC the best-run Church possible.
Ros has been attending NVBC for approx 38 years. Ros is married to Kevin and has two daughters and three grandchildren and enjoys spending time with family and patchwork and quilting.
Ros worked in the church office for 27 years, retiring in 2014. She was also Assistant Treasurer for many years. As a Board member, I believe my administrative skills help me to serve God and the members of the NVBC church community.
Debbie has been attending NVBC since 1989, she has 3 grown up children and 2 delightful granddaughters and works part-time as a legal secretary. Debbie has been part of various NVBC ministries over the years, including leading growth groups, facilitating craft groups and using her administrative skills in the church office.
Debbie believes it is important that everyone feels cared for and connected to the NVBC community, and together with the help and support of her husband, Ian, is committed to performing the treasurer role to the best of her ability.
Chris has a passion for assisting churches and mission organisations with anything to do with their buildings when the opportunity comes up. This draws on both personal and professional skills which have been developed over many years as a Structural/Civil Engineer.
Chris likes to focus on achieving quality outcomes. Tenacity, perseverance and an eye for detail help in this regard.
Interests include photography and music. At various time Chris has been in leadership in The Boys Brigade and Youth Groups and been involved in playing music in church since he was a teenager. He enjoys long walks, late at night and aspires to writing songs which encourage people to get in touch with themselves and with God.
David’s passion is working with people to achieve outcomes that honour God and NVBC. Supported by his wife, Narelle, he also serves with our church audiovisual team in both operator and technical capacity. Throughout his work life, David has managed marketing and technical groups for small organisations and corporates. He has served as a Growth Group Leader with this church, Youth Leader (previous church) and holds formal qualifications in Management, Marketing and Electronic Engineering.
David and wife Louise started at NVBC in 2015, shortly after moving to the Central Coast following 12 years working in the USA, also serving in churches there. David works in strategic planning for J&J from his home office in Terrigal. He is very enthusiastic about NVBC's "outward thinking" - always community ("field") oriented and how we can be "desperate for God, passionate for people".
